Previously published as Lovely Vicious, this fully revised and updated edition is full of romance, intrigue, and laugh-out-loud moments.
Don’t love your enemy. Declare war on him.
Seventeen-year-old Isis Blake hasn’t fallen in love in three years, nine weeks, and five days, and after what happened last time, she intends to keep it that way. Since then she’s lost eighty-five pounds, gotten four streaks of purple in her hair, and moved to Buttcrack-of-Nowhere, Ohio, to help her mom escape a bad relationship.
All the girls in her new school want one thing—Jack Hunter, the Ice Prince of East Summit High. Hot as an Armani ad, smart enough to get into Yale, and colder than the Arctic, Jack Hunter's never gone out with anyone. Sure, people have seen him downtown with beautiful women, but he's never given high school girls the time of day. Until Isis punches him in the face.
Jack’s met his match. Suddenly everything is a game.
The goal: Make the other beg for mercy.
The game board: East Summit High.
The reward: Something neither of them expected.
When i started reading this book i never thought that it will be like this.Strange or not, this book was entertaining sometimes, and sometimes i couldn't believe what i was reading!Seriously,it had a lot of funny scenes, but the rest?It was..How should i say it?Hmm.Original and a little weird. But,the important thing behind this story was:the message.Or maybe i'm just the only one who saw a message here..Well,who knows.
Isis Black isn't like all the other girls. Her life was turned upside down when she was younger, but now?She had to move in Northplains,Ohio ,because of something ugly that happened to her mother. But Isis never thought that she will meet someone who is exactly like her.Someone who tries very hard to keep everyone away from him.Someone who acts like his heart is made of ice.Someone who makes her remember what happened to her,but also someone who awakens emotions she never thought she'll feel again.
Jack Hunter's life is full of secrets and pain. All he wants is to be left alone, but that's something that will never happen, especially because the way he looks makes all the girls swoon. But meeting Isis makes him realize a lot of things.Makes him do things just to make her happy, but the past haunts him and reminds him that he still have someone, besides Isis, who needs him.
War between two people who think they don't deserve to be loved.
Harsh words.Ugly Pasts.And many,many secrets..
When the war will end,who will win?One of them,or their hearts?
This book was an rollercoaster of surprises, from the beginning until the end.Well, yeah,it wasn't exactly what i expected, but i admit that it was entertaining and a little funny. But,still,i wanted to know more about what happened to Isis, what made her change her life and why she was hiding behind that sarcastic,a little maniac and stranger mask.Don't get me wrong,i liked her-the way she was fighting ,making sure noone will ever hurt her again, but they way she was fighting? It made me want to know more about what happened to her in the past. And ,damn it!,i didn't get to find out, only pieces that didn't make any sense to me.
And Jack?Pfft, that guy!Ice Prince...Something that suits him, because from the beginning he was acting like his heart was of ice and nobody could make him feel something. But once i started read more about him, seeing pieces of the real Jack,i started to understand him and like him.Because you can't hate someone like Jack Hunter.Nu-uh.
What i liked about this book?Jack and Isis. The way they were acting when they were near each other. At war or not, they were two fools who thought that they were enemies. It was fun to read those scenes, but at the same time it was a little hard, because there were times when Jack or Isis made some moves that were too painfull and harsh.Ugh,now can i shake some sense in them?Pretty please?
Still, there were a lot of things that made me question everything.Beside Jack and Isis's pasts(that's a big question mark for me),there was Isis's mom and her abusive ex-boyfriend,someone who i'll gladly want to punch in the face.Seriously, that end! Why,oh ,why?It ruined everything.,or that's how i saw it,but the next book better be good, especially because i got only a tiny scene where i got to read a little about the girl from Jack's past..and that was what left me shocked and speechless.I mean, seriously!I want more ASAP,just because i'm curious to see if Isis remembers everything and what Sophia will do next..And Jack!Oh my..Too many questions..Too many!
